The new amendments are based on the lessons learned during the pandemic (COVID 19) when many seafarers witness prolonged periods of isolation against the backdrop of crew change crisis. Maritime Labour Convention MLC – 2006 Amendments of 2022 enter into force by December 2024.

The Paris and Tokyo MoU CIC on STCW will commence on 01st September 2022. Most likely, all other MoU except the USCG will join the campaign. In addition to the regular PSC inspection items, the CIC questionnaire will be used by the boarding PSC Officers and all items listed in the checklist will be verified in detail for compliance.
